Camarada: Take a glimpse into the breadth of programming available from this dazzling and magnetic mixed ensemble- with a 26-year track record, which performs Classical, Latin, and Jazz repertoire while frequently adding dancers to their masterfully inspired programming. Their performances combine anywhere from three to ten world class performers who ignite a powerful connection to every audience. Camarada creates a musical environment that uplifts audiences by combining a broad and eclectic musical repertoire – including fresh interpretations of familiar classics, rediscovered gems and new works commissioned for our ensemble.
Specializing in Latin and Spanish music, Camarada is dedicated to the performance of tango music.
Gregorio Gonzalez, baritone, is a favorite among our artists for Spanish themed performances such as Cantos de Amor. Gregorio began his soloist operatic career in 2002 after being hired as a resident artist by Placido Domingo at the Los Angeles Opera.
Another favorite program is Celtic Groove, featuring mystical ballades, lively jigs and traditional Irish tunes with a rock groove. Camarada offers many concerts with a Baroque theme – from a trio to a septet.
