Greta Matassa

"Matassa's performance was a marvel of virtuosity."
—Los Angeles Times
a review of Greta's Los Angeles debut at Rising Jazz Stars Foundation, concert 2006

Greta Matassa is one of the Northwest’s most talented and popular singers. Seattle’s Earshot Jazz organization has five times voted Greta the NW's best jazz vocalist.

She has released six CDs and a DVD live concert; Her new CD "The Smiling Hour" (2007) Origin Records is getting national airplay.

Although her live concert performances feature songs from her latest CDs and requests from her audience, her versatility is evident in the variety of shows she has created:

"Light Out of Darkness" a tribute to Ray Charles

“Ella and Billie” a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday

“By Request” an evening of the audience’s favorite requested standards

"That Shearing Sound" the music of George Shearing featuring Susan Pascal on vibraphone

“Tribute to Duke Ellington” with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra

She teaches privately and offers jazz workshops, clinics and master classes.
