Everything Fitz
With their energetic rhythms and tight harmonies,
the Fitzgerald Family offers up an exciting stage show featuring old-time
Canadian fiddle music. Experience everything from traditional jigs and reels
accented by sizzling step dancing, masterfully woven harmonies, to choreographed
group dances characterized by impeccable precision.
Four siblings, Pat (16), Julie (15), Kerry (14) and Tom (12) represent some of
the finest young talent in the country. In various combinations, they have
appeared on stage with Natalie MacMaster, toured Ontario and the Maritimes with
the Memories of a Don Messer Jubilee show, and played fiddle on the Tommy Hunter
2003 CBC TV Special. As a family group, they perform as guest artists at Fiddle
Festivals and fairs across the country. In the spring of 2006, they will tour
Saskatchewan as part of the Performing Arts Concert Series, performing in 29
different communities across the province.
These young musicians have won countless awards in fiddle, solo dance and group
dancing competitions. Julie holds the title of Junior Canadian Fiddle Champion
for 2004, while Tom is the current 2004 Ontario Open Champion for both fiddle
and step dancing in the 12 and under division. For more information about this
